Randy Meisner, the retired co-founding member of the Eagles has died at the age of 77. A statement was released last Thursday, he passed away in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, (July 26) due to complications from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease.
Meisner was a founding member of the Eagles and played bass and sang backing vocals on many of their most popular songs, including "Take It Easy," "Peaceful Easy Feeling," and "Take It to the Limit." He left the band in 1977 and went on to have a successful solo career. He released two albums, Randy Meisner (1978) and One More Song (1980). He also toured with various bands, including Poco and Black Tie.
Meisner is survived by his three children: Dana, Heather, and Eric.
